Who will marry Prince Harry: The women who could bag Britain's last eligible prince

Add to My Stories Among the leather-padded booths of private members club Maddox in Londons Mayfair last week, there was a frisson of excitement among a certain group of pretty and exquisitely dressed young women. The cause of their nervous giggles and the tossing of their ubiquitous long, blonde hair soon became clear. Prince Harry had just walked in.On any given night, in any of Londons upmarket clubs, gaggles of wealthy girls like these can be found, sipping 450-a-pop Treasure Chest Dom Perignon cocktails, hoping for a glimpse of the party-loving Prince and rehearsing their lines, should fate actually decree that their paths will cross.

Man about town: With his elder brother about to get married, Prince Harry is Britain's most eligible bachelorWhen Prince William ties the knot with Kate Middleton next month, for a certain class of girl, Harry will step into his brothers well-heeled shoes as the most sought-after bachelor in the kingdom. And while royal observers remain in a state of confusion as to the exact status of Harrys volatile relationship with Zimbabwe-born heiress Chelsy Davy, there are plenty of other well-bred young fillies who would be more than happy to take her place.Their hunting ground is Londons exclusive nightclub scene, where they sit huddled together, many of them waiting for the coded texts sent round when Harry is spotted.A typical text will say something like: H@M no C, which roughly translated means Harry at Mahiki without Chelsy. Dozens of girls receiving texts like these will touch up their pink lipgloss, fling themselves into taxis and head to wherever the Prince is. No wonder the 26-year-old Prince is said to have taken to wearing a womans blonde wig as a disguise when he moves between his favourite nightspots.Even in the U.S., wealthy young heiresses are admitting to setting their sights on a royal title. One 25-year-old from California, hat designer Cour! tney Fle ming, even writes a blog about her efforts as a self-confessed Harry Hunter, which include staking out the Princes favourite nightclubs in a low-cut dress and hanging out at society events such as Henley Royal Regatta. But the girls high-society watchers think will really snare Harry are not those so brazenly pursuing him. Rather it is those with impeccable pedigrees and often, titles of their own who have known him for years. During the week, they can be found in London: at the weekend, of course, they retreat to their or someone elses country houses. Here, we reveal some of their identities.
