Anne Hathaway 'so grateful to Kate Middleton for dressing like a lady'

She has divided fashion critics with her conservative wardrobe.But in Anne Hathaway's style book, the Duchess of Cambridge can do no wrong.The One Day actress praised Kate for her 'lady-like' dress sense, claiming she has paved the way for a new 'anti-Hollywood' look.

She told USA Today: 'Can I tell you how grateful I am to Kate Middleton?
'Because she is such an advocate for dressing like a lady.

Anti-boho: Anne praised Kate for dressing differently to the 'homeless' look, as is sometimes seen on actresses including the Olsen twins 'I think for a few years that kind of slightly dirty look was adopted by Hollywood - you know, the stringy hair, homeless thing.'Anne explained that she has always been unable to pull off the style adopted among her fellow celebrities, despite several attempts, and claims she just ended up looking 'chubby.'
She said ' really tried, I was like ok, I'm going to give that a go. (But) it doesn't suit me, I don't suit it.'I always looked kind of chubby.'Now the star uses Kate as a source of inspiration when deciding what to wear.She said: 'I'm just very grateful to Kate for making looking appropriate really fun again.'So right now my fashion choices are all about Kate Middleton.'
Anne shot to fame after playing a Royal in the film, the Princess Diaries in 2001.She earned her fashion fashion stripes in the role of magazine PA in The Devil Wears Prada.
