ROYAL WEDDING 2011: Queen Elizabeth and the Windsors arrive at Westminster Abbey

The Queen looked resplendent as she led the Windsors in arriving at Westminster Abbey today for her grandson's wedding.

Adding a splash of colour to proceedings, she wore an Angela Kelly-designed single crepe wool primrose dress with hand-sewn beading at the neck in the shape of sunrays.

Over this, she wore a matching double crepe wool tailored primrose coat.

Angela Kelly designed the Queen's hat too - a matching crepe hat with handmade silk roses and matching apricot-coloured leaves.

The Queen also wore Queen Mary's True Lovers Knot diamond brooch.

Spectators lined the streets as other members of the Royal Family made their way to Westminster Abbey, including The Prince of Wales who arrived with the Duchess of Cornwall in a Rolls-Royce.

In an unsurprising choice, the Duchess of Cornwall sported an Anna Valentine dress for the royal wedding.

Camilla wore a champagne silk dress with matching duck egg blue and champagne hand-embroidered coat, both by the designer.

She also carried an Anna Valentine clutch bag, and wore a Philip Treacy hat and shoes made by Jimmy Choo.

The decision will not come as much of a surprise - Camilla wore a dress by the British designer to her own wedding in 2005.

And Valentine regularly produces outfits for the duchess, who has been known to wear five or more of her creations in a month.

Charles, in common with other Princes, wore military uniform - in this case his Royal Navy admiral's outfit, while best man Prince Harry was dressed in his uniform of the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals regiment.

However Prince William's choice of the red uniform of an Irish guards colonel - which is his most senior honorary appointment - took some people by surprise.

Many had predicted that the Prince, as a helicopter pilot in the Royal Air Force, would wear his blue flightlieutenant's outfit.

Earlier other members of the Royal Family had arrived for the ceremony, among them the Duke and Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

The Duke of York also arrived with his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie and were greeted by cheers from the crowds as their car drove down the mall.

The sisters wore very contrasting outfits for the ceremony, Eugenie opting for a brightly coloured full-skirted dress with a multi-coloured bodice and blue skirt, while Beatrice looked more understated in Valentino couture and a quirky Philip Treacy hat.

The Princess Royal and her husband Vice Admiral Tim Lawrence were also amongthe earlier arrivals, along with her daughter Zara Phillips - who will be the next Royal to walk up the aisle when she marries fiance Mike Tindall this summer.
