"I am a little toothbrush, and you put me in your mouth. And if you do not use me, your teeth will all fall out."
Uh-oh. Looks like someone may have forgotten proper dental hygiene is more than just a good idea. It's the law. At least it is in Bethlehem, Pa.
The Lehigh Valley Times in Pennsylvania reports police in Bethlehem busted a local couple for not taking their 7- and 9-year-old sons to the dentist in more than two years.
The kids allegedly had teeth so rotten and decayed they would make even Austin Powers exclaim, "Blimey!" Court records describe the 9-year-old's teeth as black and green.
According to the paper, Donna and John Grobelny stand charged with two felony counts each of endangering the welfare of children. Police slapped Donna Grobelny with four additional counts of reckless endangerment and John Grobelny with two additional counts of reckless endangerment.
Both children were reportedly taken to a local hospital for examination.
Meanwhile, the newspaper reports, their parents sit in the Northampton County Prison. John Grobelny, 39, failed to post 10 percent of the $35,000 bail set by District Judge Nancy Matos Gonzalez. Donna Grobelny, 44, failed to post 10 percent of a $15,000 bail.
According to court documents obtained by Fox News in Philadelphia, when police asked Donna Grobelny about her kids' teeth, she replied, "I didn't feel that their teeth were that bad."
She also claimed she didn't take her oldest son to the dentist because he is severely autistic and becomes agitated whenever taken to a doctor.
