What you need: Two players, a set of jacks (metal six-tipped objects) and a small rubber ball.

How to play: Jacks are scattered loosely around the play area, and players take turns bouncing the rubber ball and picking up jacks and the ball before it bounces again.

The rules: The number of jacks picked up on each turn is sequential, one on the first turn, two on the second turn and so on.

How to win: The winner is whoever has the most jacks once all of the jacks have been picked up.

What else you need to know: There are many variations on this game, such as Flying Dutchman where the player throws the ball into the air, picks up jacks and must catch the ball before it hits the ground.
