Life after heartbreak...
'Unbreak my heart' might be a great song to listen to but in real life it's different. Being in a relationship is a great high but it's certainly not easy when you are no longer in it.
Everything suddenly looks painful, dry and lifeless. But as they say, life must go on. So, here go a survivor's guide to deal with break-up blues.
1. Don't break your head over why the relationship didn't work. In life, some questions are answered best when they are left unanswered.
2 Talk to your close friend. He/she can be of help to you.
3. Revel in your new found single status. Develop a new hobby/ interest. We know, it's easier said than done. But give it a try.
4. If your bank-account is loaded, do indulge in retail therapy. If it's not, it's better to go for window-shopping. A credit card debt is not a solution to your break-up. It might hit you really hard after a while.
5. Judge your own life as an outsider and that will give you a perspective.
6. Join a health club (not the one where he/she goes), go for walks. Or join dancing/kick-boxing classes. Medical science has proved that any form of physical exercise is a great mood elevator. There's no point in sitting and see the world pass by. Be a part of this world and get moving.
7. Idle mind is devil's workshop. Stay occupied. Organise parties for close friends at home. Change the decor of your house/bachelor pad as that will clear clutter in your physical space and give you happiness too.
8. Don't get into this habit of checking his/her status or wall posts every now and then in Facebook. Don't show to the world how miserable you are without him/her. No need either to 'defriend' him/her. Remember emotional intelligence wins in the long run.
9. Never ever get into a relationship immediately after your break-up. Give yourself some time.
10. Now that you are single again, prepare a brand new bucket list.
