Sales of baby food soar thanks to Cheryl Cole and Jennifer Aniston

Now sales are surging as British women take their lead from Hollywood.
Sales of wet baby food are up 20 per cent compared with the same two-week period last year, while the figure for dry baby food has jumped 59 per cent, according to upmarket web grocer Ocado.

Orders for Heinz Mums Own Creamed Porridge have leapt by 100 per cent, while those for pasta and spaghetti bolognese purees are up by 87 per cent, said Ocado.
Sales of Plum Baby 7+ Months Bean & Beef Cassoulet with Tomato have risen by 32 per cent. Ellas Kitchen Organic Chicken & Sweetcorn Mash is up 15 per cent.
Women trying to slim to fit into summer holiday bikinis are said to be driving the sales trend. The baby food diet has received a lot of publicity in the last few weeks.
Advocates suggest it is possible, when combined with workouts, to lose 20lb in six weeks on the diet.
Baby food products are subject to strict nutrition controls far more than any other products limiting salt, sugar and other additives.Pots and packets of baby food often contain between 100 and 150 calories.
The Jennifer Aniston version of the diet is said to include up to 14 small pots a day to stave off hunger pangs plus one main health! y meal o f fish and steamed vegetables. Ocado said sales of fish have surged by 23 per cent and vegetables by 13 per cent in the past two weeks, compared with the same period last year.
The diets creator is Tracy Anderson, the personal trainer who is also credited with sculpting the figures of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow.

She said: Liquid cleanses do help you lose weight but you will gain more the next week.
I wanted something where you can eliminate toxicity, break bad habits but still have your digestive system going. That is when the babyfood cleanse was born.
But most baby food is very bland and some who have tried the diet complain it can lead to constipation.
Nutritionists are happy that the diet will do no harm, but suggest that those who want to lose weight should use healthy eating and exercise regimes.
The British Dietetic Association, which speaks for the nations dieticians, said people who use the baby food diet should grow up.
A spokesman said: This diet works on portion control and guess what?Yes, restricted calories, as a jar of baby food has very few.
Although fruit and veg are included they are pureed so have much less fibre and texture. Chewing food is associated with feelings of fullness, so reach for an apple or a carrot rather than a jar.
