Beauty Confidential: Strictly fab at all ages! From lush lashes to bold nails, the dance shows make-up artist reveals how she adds some sparkle
Lisa Armstrong is the head make-up designer on Strictly Come Dancing (and is married to Ant McPartlin, from Ant and Dec) and is responsible for the glamorous looks worn by the stars of the show. Here, we reveal how shell be making this years stars look fabulous, whatever their age.
Soft glow: For over 60s like Lulu Lisa recommends keeping make-up to a minimum
15-25 CHELSEE HEALEY
DO: Bright colours work. The key products for Chelsee are coloured pencils and glitter liners. Mix and match them to create a look thats young and fun. A good tip to make the eyes pop is to dab a little bit of glitter on the inner corner of the eyes.

DONT: Avoid going overboard with the base. Stay away from matte foun! dations and let your youthful glow shine through. Bright, vibrant nail varnishes always look hot on youthful skin. I use Essies Bright Tights, 8.50 (beautybay.com) which is a brilliant, loud orange shade.

25-30 HOLLY VALANCE
DO: Its all about lashes and liner for Holly this year. A gel liner across the lash line creates a sexy look and can also be worn on the inner eyelid to create more drama.

My best tip for applying false lashes yourself is to angle the new lash down towards the base of your lashes, rather than the base of the lid, as this will stop any possibility of a gap between the fake lash and your own. Try Eylure Pre-glued Ready To Wear False Eyelashes, 070 (5.31, Boots).

To create a feline look with liner, wing it out from the outer corner of the eye, slanting upwards to make the eyes appear wider. Holly has dewy fresh skin, so Ill be using powder onthe T-zone and a bronzer to highlight her features. Vamp up nails with dark shades, including deep navy and black.
DONT: Never be tempted to overpluck your eyebrows. A thicker shape always works best using a matte shadow to fill any gaps.
30-45 ALEX JONES
DO: When using eye colour, it is important to get the tone right. Highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the eye to create a lifted shape. Benefits High Beam, 18.50 (benefit cosmetics.co.uk) will work well on Alexs olive skin.
Muted tones, rather than bright colours are best, so I favour warm peachy, soft browns and taupe shades. When choosing a nail varnish for this look I like to stay sophisticated, matching nails with toes or making the nail colour work with the outfit Alex is wearing for example, a black dress with a red belt and bright red varnish.
DONT: When creating a look for this age range, less is more, so I dont go overboard. Focus on either the eyes or the lips, to avoid looking too overdone. For more adventurous types who want to use bright colour on the eyes, make sure it is never above the socket line.
45-60 NANCY DELL'OLIO
DO: A base that provides full coverage works best on women of Nancys age, avoiding shiny or glossy products that will enhance si! gns of a geing.
Use a good under-eye concealer that isnt too powdery and drying, to help keep the eyes in check and avoid looking older. Try Cliniques All About Eyes Concealer, 16 (clinique.co.uk)
Autumnal berry lip colours look great on Nancy, and Ill use a matching lip pencil as a base to stop the colour bleeding. Make sure you do not go over your natural lip line. Keep your nails soft and classic with nude and pale pink shades.
DONT: Stay clear of shimmery eye shadows as these often enhance wrinkles and can be very ageing. Keep them matte and apply under the eyeline to help define your features.

60+ LULU
DO: When you are over 60 like Lulu, keep make-up to a minimum and pick out a feature to highlight eyes, lips or cheeks taking care not to overdo strong colours. For eyes, a soft wash of colour over the lid works best. For cheeks use a matte, soft blusher try Avon True Colour Blush, 4 (avonshop.co.uk) and for the lips, a good lip line is key, and blot with a tissue to avoid excess colour on the teeth.
DONT: Avoid foundation that is too pale or too creamy. These have a tendency to lie in lines or creases.
