She was once the poster girl for the curvier woman, proudly displaying her curves in plus-size catwalks shows.

But last night Crystal Renn showed off the full extent of her weight loss as she donned a slinky gold dress to attend the opening night of the 2011 Metropolitan Opera Season in New York.

The 25-year-old beauty is now virtually unrecognisable from her days of 'big' modelling, with her sharp cheekbones and tiny waist highlighting her dramatic change in appearance.

Crystal addressed critics of her weight loss earlier this year, insisting she is happy with the way she looks and denying she had been pressured into changing her appearance.

She said: 'When this whole weight loss thing happened, I think that a lot of people wanted to point their finger at somebody. I think that they wanted to find a conspiracy where there absolutely was none.

'A lot of people said the industry was pressuring me, my agency was pressuring me, I was pressuring me, butit was just not the case in all three cases.

'I think the most important thing that we all need to know, whether you're a model, you're a normal personwalking around, you're an editor, you're a photographer, you're anybodyout in the world - it's about individual health.

'You cannot tell if someone is healthy, where they are mentally, from the outside, because health is different for everybody at different sizes.'

At the height of her plus-size modelling days, Crystal had said: 'I don't want young women to think being thin is the only way to be beautiful. Beauty is not a pant size. I'm known for my body and I'm proud of my body.'

Pretty in pink: Tyra Banks softened her look to attend the Metropolitan Opera House Season opening night in New York City last night

Now and then: The talk show host's current look is much preferable to the one she wore in August

However, the brunette beauty looks worlds away from her former size, and appeared much more like the typical model as she posed up on the red carpet last night with fashion designer Zac Posen.

Other stars to attend last night's performance of Anna Bolena included Tyra Banks, who finally eased up on her latest day-glow fixation by donning a floor-length, ruffled pink dress.

She brought longtime boyfriend John Utendahl to the event, held at the Big Apple's legendary Metropolitan Opera House.

Other celebrity attendees looked just as lovely as the America's Next Top Model creator, putting effort into glamming up for the elegant event.

News anchor Katie Couric, 54, was pretty in a floor-length purple frock, holding a simple black evening bag as one of her few accessories.

Martha Stewart looked twenty years younger than her current age of 70, skin glowing above her cream-coloured satin jacket and sequined black trousers.
