We'll be taking the chiffon, not the sequins, then: Pop-up store sells designer clothes by weight
An enterprising businessman in Brisbane, Australia, has opened a pop-up store selling designer clothes by the kilogram.

Tommy Hilfiger glad rags start at six cents per gram, Calvin Klein from ten cents and Ralph Lauren from eight cents, reports the Brisbane Courier Mail.
Emperor's clothes: The store sees designer labels on sale by weight, with Ralph Lauren costing 8c per gram and Calvin Klein tipping the scales at 10c per gram
'At the end of the day buying clothes by weight is a very different retail experience,' he told the newspaper.
In a city that is not know for its designer fashion acumen, the store will sell six major designer brands, and will cater for men, women and children.
And, while Australia appears to have avoided much of the tougher parts of the global recession, it appears Queenslanders are still in the market for a bargain.
'It's a low price, cheaper than outlet stores,' says Mr Golubinsky, who hopes that the bargains will alter people's perception of the unusual retail style.
Australian dollars are approximately equal to U.S. dollars. The move will see an average Ralph Lauren t-shirt, weighing 150grams or 5.3oz, on sale for just $12.
Thrift stores have long sold piles of second-hand clothes by weight. Whether customers will appreciate their high-end clothes being associated with the down-at-heel thrift and ! charity market is another question entirely.
The pop-up store is open for a limited time in the city's centre.
