Fashion empire: Nicole Richie is thought to be doing a line with QVC

Nicole Richie has proved her critics wrong with the success of her Winter Kate fashion collection and House of Harlow jewellery.

Now the 30-year-old looks set to expand her empire further with a budget version of her Seventies-inspired line.

The mother-of-two has joined forces with television shopping network QVC to create a cut-price range, according to new reports.

A source told US Weekly that the collection will launch in February to coincide with the launch of her new TV show, Fashion Star.

They said that Ms Richie was careful to cater to all different shapes and sizes.

'The line is cute - it can be worn by teeny-tiny girls but also goes upto size XXXL,' they said.

'Nicole has a great fashion sense, and she's very hands-on.'

The news comes as the star was named 'Influencer of the Year' at the Accessories Council Excellence (ACE) Awards.

In an interview to mark the honour, she told WWD that she was being careful to develop each of her fashion endeavours slowly, so that each could develop its own identity.

She added that she designs with her customers in mind, gleaning direct feedback from Facebook and Twitter.

'Idraw inspiration from various parts of my life and I absolutely would never design anything that I wouldnt wear myself,' she told the paper.

'But for me, the most important thing is to listen to my customers and get their feedback - I design for them.'

Branching out: The House of Harlow accessories line includes jewellery and bags

If rumours that Ms Richie is designing for QVC are true, she will be following in some high-profile footsteps.

Rachel Zoe and Kris Jenner have also both recently partnered with the network, as well as Heidi Klum.
